Dairy products are generally defined as food produced from the milk of mammals. They are usually high energy-yielding food products. A production plant for the processing of milk is called a dairy or dairy factory. Apart from breastfed infants, the human consumption of dairy products is sourced primarily from the milk of cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, yaks and camels.
Animal husbandry is one of the most important occupations for farmers globally. Livestock, meat, eggs, milk, hides, etc. are the major products. For the farmer the livestock are not just mere animals but are often treated as companions.
